My Journey to Tom E. Morrison, Music Producer in England

DAY 1 / September 17, 2024
And then we started working in the studio…
The studio radiated nostalgia, with beautiful guitars and vintage amplifiers. In short, I felt at home right away. Tom is such a true professional. Everything was so relaxed—no pressure, no stress. I played an original song I had recently written.

DAY 2 / September 18, 2024

The evening wasn’t over yet, as we went to an English pub where singer-songwriters perform every week. This time, there was an American artist who sang beautifully and powerfully while playing guitar and using his foot to play the bass drum. Another performer from London joined in, playing harmonica. We jammed together, and it sounded amazing—what an atmosphere….

DAY 3 / September 19, 2024

We dove straight into the studio and enthusiastically continued working on our new song. I had the chance to go all out with backing vocals. What a fun and beautiful commercial song it has become, and now it’s the second song in English. Tom plans to add real drum tracks performed by a top studio musician and possibly an authentic vintage Hammond organ, as well as a bassline. Last but not least, Tom recorded a gritty guitar solo.

We also made a video for my new rock ballad, which will be released in six weeks.

After that, I unfortunately had to pack my bags for the journey home and, after a slight delay, landed at Schiphol. After those amazing days in England and the warm hospitality of Tom and his wife Rachel, coming back home felt like a slap in the face. Thankfully, my good friend Marcel van der Ploeg was kind enough to pick me up, making the return home a bit more bearable for me… welcome back!
