Singer Lisette van der Ploeg from Leiderdorp dreams of visiting her beloved grandmother Henriette, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 96, in heaven with her new single ‘Visit Heaven’.
Being able to talk to her grandmother occasionally or see how she is doing there would ease the pain. What a beautiful thought—that you could visit your departed loved ones at any moment, or at least once, in the place we imagine as heaven. “Just once, to see how she is. My grandmother was always very kind and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We were always welcome. Even though her husband had passed away many years earlier, she always had a positive attitude and never complained. We visited her regularly, there was always delicious food and sweets, she loved to laugh and was always up for a joke. In heaven, they will surely love her,” Lisette said.
Lisette van der Ploeg, along with her father Marcel (lyrics), Danny Ferdinandus (music), and London-based musician and producer Tom E. Morrison (known for working with Bonnie Tyler, Roachford, Bliss/Rachel Morrison), recorded Visit Heaven via Zoom. Morrison not only produced but also arranged and mixed the track. The multitalented musician played all the instruments in his studio, while Lisette recorded the vocals at Smashgate Studios in Hilversum under the “Zoom remote direction” of Tom Morrison. The result is a heart-wrenching ballad that is sure to help people ease the grieving process for their loved ones.
Lisette van der Ploeg has been singing since a young age, with her first performances taking place in her parents’ living room. She later performed at her primary school’s open mic events and began taking singing lessons at the age of ten. Her training became more professional under the guidance of trained vocalists Gerlinde Vliegenthart and Marnie Baumer. Lisette has already released several singles: her first single, the Christmas song Laat het altijd kerst zijn (Let It Always Be Christmas), was presented on local television in 2019. In the summer of 2020, she released Vlinders (Butterflies), followed most recently in the spring of 2021 by Open je hart voor mij (Open Your Heart to Me) and Stop! Red de wereld (Stop! Save the World).
